Max Verstappen set for crunch Red Bull talks because of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes
Jos Verstappen says he and son Max will talk to Red Bull chiefs because Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are too far ahead in the Championship race.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is set for talks with team bosses, according to the 21-year-old’s father Jos.
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are running away with Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships this season.
But Red Bull had promised to make Verstappen a world title contender as he vows to become the youngest champion of all time.
However, the Austrian team have struggled with consistency this term and Jos Verstappen has grown increasingly frustrated at watching Hamilton unrivalled.
“Since then we have stood still a bit while the others made progress,” he told Ziggo Sport.
“That is hugely frustrating, but we depend on the team. In both engine and car, we lag behind a bit.
“Red Bull has had all year to close the gap but we haven’t gotten closer.
“So why would they suddenly close the gap next year? I am really worried about that.
“We will talk to the team to see what can be done, but at the moment it’s not good enough.”
Verstappen is under contract with Red Bull until the end of next season.
But his dad has hinted there could be issues if he is not given the tools to challenge Hamilton.
He added: “Put Max in a good car and he will be there.
“The situation he is in is absolutely not his fault, which makes it even more difficult.
“The team really needs to change things and get it to work, otherwise next year will be lost as well.
“At the moment it does not look like we can compete for the World Championship next year either.”
