Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to clash in a highly-anticipated heavyweight bout - as significant details have emerged. Back in December, reports surfaced that the duo were set to finally resolve their long-standing rivalry in the ring in 2026.

However, merely days following his knockout victory over Jake Paul this past Christmas, Joshua was involved in a devastating car accident in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of his two close friends Sina Ghami and Lateef 'Latz' Ayodele. There were concerns that Joshua might never compete again after narrowly escaping death, but the former two-time heavyweight world champion is now back undertaking some light training amidst discussions of a potential return to the ring this summer.

'AJ' has been suggested to face former rival Dillian Whyte before pursuing a showdown with Fury. According to boxing journalist Gareth A Davies, both Fury and Joshua have reached an agreement to meet in the ring.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Davies disclosed that the fight is 'signed' before asserting it's been 'agreed'. "The Fury-Joshua fight is signed," he said. "Okay, it is signed in the background. I've got that on good authority."

Davies revealed that the showcase will be broadcast live on Netflix and is likely to occur either 'late in the year' or 'next year', with Joshua expected to return to the ring in either 'June or July. ' "It's with the big money people. It'll be on Netflix."

Davies further stated: "It's on the cards and it's going to happen."

Tyson Fury v Arslanbek Makhmudov Press Conference

Netflix are set to screen Fury's comeback on April 11. Last year, the 'Gypsy King' shocked fans by declaring his retirement from boxing, only to reverse his decision a few months later.

The 37-year-old is due to face formidable Russian knockout specialist Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Netflix has emerged as a significant force in the boxing world recently, having broadcast bouts such as Paul vs Joshua, Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano and Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Joshua is nearing a return to full training ahead of a potential comeback to the ring later this year. Last month, the Brit's promoter, Eddie Hearn, disclosed that an all-British heavyweight clash between Fury and Joshua could still occur despite his star client's near-death experience.

"Originally the plan with AJ was for him to fight in March and then fight Tyson Fury in August," Hearn informed Boxing Scene. "He's not going to fight Tyson Fury next; he's going to come back, I believe, in late summer. Physically he's not yet in a position to return so I'm planning and he's just resting and preparing.

"I'm looking at options to get him back in the ring in July but we will only know if that's a real possibility when he returns to camp which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks Every fight is dangerous coming off what he's been through. We are open to the Tyson Fury fight but more likely at the end of the year or early in 2027."
