Mike Tyson may have no choice but to step away from blockbuster Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson is set to undergo another round of rigorous medical checks ahead of his rescheduled bout with Jake Paul. The boxing icon, known as 'Iron Mike', was due to face the social media sensation next month, but the fight has been postponed to Nov. 15 following a health scare Tyson experienced on a flight.

Despite the delay, the controversial professional match will proceed under the same rules at the original venue, AT&T Stadium in Texas. Tela Mange, Head of Communications for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, informed World Boxing News that Tyson continues to be closely monitored after his stomach ulcer incident.

"At this point, the fight remains an eight-round contest over two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves," he stated. Mange had earlier mentioned that Tyson must provide positive results from an electroencephalogram (EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG) to participate in the fight.

"As I think I've said before, the Department will stay informed about the health of the combatants and will obtain more information if needed to protect their health and safety," he added. He further explained that besides pre-licensing medical screening, TDLR's ringside doctors also perform pre-fight physicals prior to the event.

According to TDLR rules, licensure does not automatically permit an individual to take part in an event if their health or safety could be at risk. The Texas Commission has vowed to permanently cancel the fight if Tyson experiences another stomach issue.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion will be 58 when he steps into the ring, while Paul will only be 27, marking the largest age difference in professional boxing history. "Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly," Tyson recently stated.

"I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best rescheduled date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out."

Paul says the fight with the boxing icon was a long time coming, and that they had been calling each other out for a while. "We've been calling each other out for years and we finally got to make it happen on Netflix, the biggest platform in the world, and things just keep on getting bigger and better," The Problem Child.

"The co-main event [Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano]... I mean this is quite literally history that we're looking at right here. Mike wanted this. Mike wanted it to be a pro-fight.

"He wants the war, and so I respect that. I respect him for taking this fight, for stepping up to try to put an end to me because that's what all these fighters have been trying to do is end the YouTuber and if Mike can do that, then he's a hero."
