Tyson Fury returns to training with intense gym routine
Tyson Fury lifts lid on Anthony Joshua sparring session
Tyson Fury has shed some light on a sparring session he once had with Anthony Joshua, which he claims he dominated.
“We’ve had a spar before,” Fury told Showtime. “He was an amateur boxer at the time. He had a good couple of rounds. Then I started hitting him around the body. He was like this, lifting his legs up in the corner. There were ten people in the gym who saw him do it.
“I’m there with my hands down and flicking him, leaning out of the way. He’s coming forward with big swings. How’s he going to hit me? I said: ‘Go on then, put one on me, I’ll stand still for you’. He just can’t win. It was what it was.”
On a potential showdown with ‘AJ’, Fury said: “He seems pretty spirited, doesn’t he? But when I stood face-to-face with him and said, ‘Do you want to get outside?’ His a*** started flapping. He s*** himself!” Fury said.
“It doesn’t matter what weight I was at the time. I wasn’t in shape but I’d have taken him outside and kicked his c*** right in for him.
“If a man said that to me – I don’t care if I was unfit or not – he’d be outside and punched. We’d have had to have a fight. Simple. I don’t care who he is or what he is.
“But I said that to him and he didn’t want to know.”
It never really crossed my mind
Amir Khan talks retirement
Former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has revealed the thought of retiring from boxing hasn’t entered his mind since his sixth-round loss to Terence Crawford last month.
“It never really crossed my mind, in the fight I was still there,” Khan told The National.
"He was technically a very good fighter and I did find it quite hard to get to him. But I still think, maybe not against a Crawford."
Errol Spence Jr talks up Canelo Alvarez fight
IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr has revealed he’s open to moving up to middleweight and fighting Canelo Alvarez.
“We’ll see,” Spence told FightHub TV. “It could happen.”
Canelo’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya loves the idea of a fight with Spence Jr, saying: “I am letting you know that we love the fight as well and I’ve always said that Errol Spence is one of the most talented fighters out there.
“There’s no reason why Spence can’t move up to middleweight if Mikey Garcia could go up (from lightweight) to welterweight to fight Spence.
“And if Spence fights Canelo, it will be the most money Errol Spence will ever make.
“I would love to start the ball rolling. Let’s do it. We just want to get Canelo the best fights and the toughest challenges out there.”
