Boxing fans left STUNNED as promoter cuts fighter's pay IN HALF after 'dud' fight
BOXING fans went crazy at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship president David Feldman after he cut a fighter’s purse in half for fighting what he referred to as “a boring fight”.
Rusty Crowder and Reggie Barnett Jr fought a blood-soaked five rounds on the undercard of Artem Lobov’s fight with Jason Knight at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 5.
Despite putting their bodies and health on the line, Feldman was not impressed with the two bantamweights.
He took the microphone after the fight and declared that Crowder would not receive half of his pay check, instead, the money would go to Barnett Jr.
Feldman insisted that Crowder chose to “run” instead of fight, and he clearly wasn’t a fan of the southpaw’s box-and-move tactics.
“Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is a new sport and a brand new company and we’re here for action,” he said after the fight.
“And we want action and we demand action from the fighters.
“We didn’t get action in that last fight because Rusty Crowder wanted to run.
“Therefore he’s giving half his purse to Reggie Barnett. Make some noise, Biloxi!
“This is how we do it at Bare Knuckle, you fight or you don’t get paid.”
Fans were absolutely disgusted with Feldman’s decision, and posted their opinions on Twitter.
“Really would like to see that contract,” one fan joked.
“That’s crazy,” another wrote.
One put: “WTF that’s crazy, just like that??”
“Is anyone actually cool with this? It’s pretty f***d up,” another wrote.
“I HATE dud fights… but to NOT give a fighter the money he/she signed for is out of line,” another tweeted.
“That’s pretty hilarious. So who decides if someone isn’t fighting?” one more fan posted.
Lobov ended up defeating Knight via unanimous decision, and will now go on to face Conor McGregor’s old rival Paulie Malignaggi.
