Anthony Joshua takes swipe at ‘JEALOUS’ Lennox Lewis
Anthony Joshua aims dig at Lennox Lewis
Anthony Joshua has taken a swipe at former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, who has been a vocal critic of ‘AJ’ in recent months.
“To be honest I don't see them, but what I hear is that he doesn't really have any positive stuff to say, if I'm honest,” Joshua told IFL TV. “So with that being said, I think it reflects back to my comments about how I feel about when I leave the (sport). If I met him face to face it would probably be different, do you know what I mean?'
Joshua doesn’t believe Lewis’ comments have been taken out of context, saying: “No, because the thing is he's been documented on camera saying it.
“But when you meet someone face to face they don't have the same views they have when they were one-on-one in front of the camera.
“That's that being said, but as I said, my outlook on the heavyweight division is that when I'm done with the sport, all I want to do is say nice, positive things about other heavyweights that are breaking my records, doing better than me and taking their own route in boxing.
“I’m not going to follow Lennox Lewis' route [and] [Deontay] Wilder, or [Tyson] Fury, [Alexander] Povetkin, Wladimir [Klitschko] aren't going to follow his route either.
“I feel like he had his thing set out - that was good for him - I have my thing, that's good for me. You just have to respect someone for doing it, not be envious, I don't want to say jealous, he's maybe not jealous but don't have anything negative to say. That's what I want to do when I finish, just pure positivity, respect that kid, he's doing well.
“Whatever route he's taking, I'm sure he's got good people around him. If he needs my support I'm here - nothing more, nothing less.”
Tyson Fury hits out at Deontay Wilder
Tyson Fury has hit out at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder after their proposed rematch hit the buffers.
“The world knows I won the fight as did you and your team,” ‘The Gypsy King’ said. “Fool me once, shame on you but you won’t fool me twice.
“Why would I go get robbed again on Showtime. My team offered to do you a favour, pay you better and build your name. Albeit as my workman.”

James DeGale retires from boxing
Former IBF middleweight champion James DeGale has announced his retirement from boxing following his unanimous decision loss to Chris Eubank Jr last Saturday.
"Today marks ten years since my professional debut fight on 28 February 2009 and today is the day I am announcing my retirement from boxing," DeGale’s retirement read.
"It’s been an unbelievable journey and I’ve had an amazing decade – if I’m honest, the best years of my life – and having started boxing at the age of nine then being selected as part of the England Amateurs squad, I’ve collected many memories along the way.
"It hard to admit that I’m not the fighter I once was, but I’m human and along the way, my injuries have taken a toll – both on mind and body and these things have contributed to impact my performance in the ring.
Fury: I want to fight the Joshuas and the Wilders of the world
"I lost the fight on Saturday at The O2 but I’m touched to have a good send-off from the fans in my home city
"The day after the fight, someone said to me that one fight does not determine a legacy.
"Looking back, if someone had told me at the start of my boxing career, when I was in the England squad, that I would become an Olympic Gold Medallist, British and European Champion and Two-Time World Champion, I would never have believed them, but I did it and I’d like to think I did it the clean, honest and hard way with discipline and respect to the sport I love.
"I’m proud to say that I’ve made history as the first ever British Olympian boxer to turn professional and to win a World Title and I am also proud to have been a road warrior – to travel wherever I needed to be to fight and to win. There's nothing left to prove."
