Chris Eubank Jr next fight: GGG, Canelo or Saunders in pipeline - Nate Vasquez EXCLUSIVE
CHRIS EUBANK Jr has a wish list of potential opponents should he win against James DeGale tonight.
The former IBO super middleweight world champion is vying to reclaim the controversial strap at the O2 Arena tonight.
He takes on DeGale in a fight which has received more interest for its enticing rivalry rather than the unrecognised world title at stake.
Bad blood has boiled since then as Eubank Jr has continually trashed Chunky’s name.
The Brightonian will finally get his chance to plant leather on skin tonight under the lights, in a fight which will be broadcast on ITV Box Office.
Neither fighter has allowed themselves to talk beyond Saturday, with DeGale dubbing the bout as ‘The Retirement Fight’.
Both men have suffered career-denting losses in the last 15 months - DeGale against No 15-ranked challenger Caleb Truax, while Eubank Jr was outthought and outfought by George Groves last February.
But while DeGale has admitted he will retire should he lose, Eubank Jr has refused to accept that fate.
GGG, Charlo, Canelo - you got a lot, but I think Saunders is coming up to 168 - there's fights there
And his first full-time trainer, Nate Vasquez, listed four names to Express Sport who could form his next opponent if he grabs his 28th professional win.
“It's not up to me [who Eubank Jr faces], it's up to his manager,” Vasquez initially admitted.
“It's my job to train him, so as long as he has a fight, then we go from there.
“I don't have any input on who he's gonna fight or not.
“[But] we could go down to 160 - there's so many fights down there and big-money fights.
“GGG (Gennady Golovkin), [Jermall] Charlo, Canelo [Alvarez] - you got a lot. But I think [Billy Joe] Saunders is coming up to 168 - there are fights there. Both weights are packed.”
