Boxing news: Chris Eubank Jr. can STOP James DeGale if THIS happens - Dominic Ingle
CHRIS EUBANK JR. can potentially knock out rival James DeGale when the two clash this Saturday, but he won’t be able to do it with one shot, according to trainer Dominic Ingle.
Eubank and DeGale will do battle at the O2 Arena on Saturday night in a huge night for British boxing.
Both fighters have cone to a crossroads in their careers, with DeGale dubbing the clash a retirement fight.
Eubank lost the biggest fight of his career this time last year against the now retired George Groves, but the Brighton-born man believe’s he’ll be victorious against DeGale.
The one criticism of Eubank throughout his career, though, is that he’s reluctant to listen to training instructions from his corner during fights.
And Ingle believes the 29-year-old struggles against opponents who are at an elite world class level.
“It seems every time he comes up against quality opposition with a boxing brain, he falls short,” Ingle told SecondsOut.
“James DeGale has got a very good boxing brain, he’s a former world champion.
“But he’s had his injuries, he got beat by [Caleb] Truax, and came back and won the rematch.

“It all depends on which DeGale turns up, if he’s got the movement he will beat Eubank, but it’s about time Eubank won one of these fights.
“Because every time he come sup against an elite level fighter, he just falls short.
“He’s got to come through it, I’m going to put my money on Eubank.”
Ingle, who trained Kell Brook, also believes that if DeGale was in his prime, the fight would be no contest for him.
But he also admit that DeGale could come into some trouble late on in the fight if he doesn’t take control of the centre of the ring.
“If his prime, DeGale would’ve boxed the ears of Eubank, but I don’t know how much he has left in the tank,” Ingle added.
“Eubank could possibly stop DeGale if DeGale hangs about on the ropes, but I don’t think he’s got the power to take him out with one shot.”
