Anthony Joshua more likely to fight Tyson Fury than Deontay Wilder in April - Hearn
ANTHONY JOSHUA is more likely to fight Tyson Fury than Deontay Wilder on April 13 according to Matchroom Sport boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
Anthony Joshua: I'm BEGGING to fight Deontay Wilder
Eddie Hearn has revealed that Deontay Wilder’s team have failed to respond to his last SIX emails.
“We had some decent conversations but we are probably up to about six unanswered emails now,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“I sent one a couple of days ago saying ‘I just want to check these haven’t got into your spam items’”
Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought since his TKO win over Alexander Povetkin in September and has been heavily linked to a fight with Wilder before the latter drew with Tyson Fury in December.
“It’s frustrating because when you walk out onto the street (people say) ‘when is he (Joshua) going to fight Wildler?’ the answer is whenever they want it," he added.
“If they wanted the fight they would talk to me, they’re not even talking to us.
“We’ve made offers, percentage splits and everything we can do to try and make that fight."
Since the draw between his two most likely opponents, the name of Joshua’s next adversary has gone quiet - with a clash against Fury now more likely than against Wilder according to Hearn.
“I think right now there is more chance of fighting Tyson Fury," he said.
“Fury is a man that knows he can have this fight if he wants is.
“I’ve spoken to Fury, he that if he wants to fight Joshua then it can happen April 13.”
Despite Hearn saying Fury can can fight Joshua if he wants to, the 30-year-old has claimed that the fight could never happen.
“I’m sorry to disappoint the sports fans, but Joshua, even with two hammers in each hand, could never beat Tyson Fury and they know that. They’re not silly,” Fury told BT Sport.
Tyson Fury says fight with Anthony Joshua unlikely to happen
“And it’s a business as well. So they’re not going to take the fight, simple as.
“They may say they’ll take the fight and talk about and then fight somebody else, like they keep doing.
“That fight ain’t gonna happen. So I’m not holding my breath at all.”
