Anthony Joshua hits out at Deontay Wilder ahead of potential boxing showdown
ANTHONY JOSHUA has aimed a sensational dig at fellow heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, insinuating that he shows off too much.
Anthony Joshua 'READY' to fight Deontay Wilder
Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder have long been mooted to fight each other but a deal has never been struck.
Wilder recently fought challenger Tyson Fury to a split decision draw in Los Angeles.
Fans and pundits alike, however, feel that Fury won the fight, thrusting himself into the heavyweight picture once again.
Joshua’s faced most of the criticism this past year for the fight not happening and gave his reasoning as to why that might be.
“Maybe because I’m not on here with ice around my neck, flashing jewels, talking about PPV numbers,” Joshua said on First Take.
“That’s not really my swag, but I handle my business and I do that in the ring.”
Joshua also insisted his will to fight either one of Fury or Wilder, but would prefer the latter, citing the fact that he has a world title.
“I’m willing to fight Deontay Wilder, April 13 in London. I don’t know what more I have to do to get that message across,” he said.

“He’s more interested in fighting Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury holds no world titles.
“I can’t control what Wilder or Fury do and say. I can control what I say and what I do.
“We made sure in negotiations, I booked the date in advance, I set the venue in advance. I put my point clear in front of everyone - I’m willing to fight anyone of these guys, especially the champion.”
‘AJ’, though, mentioned Fury isn’t in his immediate sights.
“I’m not interested in Tyson Fury, he’s not the champion,” he said.
Eddie Hearn: Anthony Joshua WOULD fight Tyson Fury in April
“If I’ve got to get my hands on that too [lineal title], and the that’s what the world is interested in, Fury can step in if he’s serious.”
Joshua made it absolutely clear that he has his sights set on one goal - becoming undisputed world heavyweight champion of the world.
“I want to fight the champion, I’m the one leading the pack, I’ve been doing it since I made my debut,” AJ said.
“Five years in, seven world title defences and I’m running the game, I mean business.”
