Wilder vs Fury results: Full undercard results from Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury draw
TYSON FURY attempted to capture world heavyweight gold tonight against Deontay Wilder in a battle for the WBC World title but could only earn a split decision draw. Find out the full results of the night's undercard here.
Fury had fought just twice since dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 in Germany but produced an incredible performance against Wilder, becoming the first man not to lose to the American in 41 fights.
Yet the 'Gypsy King' - despite being knocked to the canvas twice - rightly felt that he should have won having been the better and more controlled boxer on the night at Staples Center.
He declared in the ring afterwards: "I still believe I won that fight. I think every man in here thinks I won that fight.”
That means Wilder and Fury are likely to do it all over again - either in the US or perhaps even the UK - in 2019.
The main event was not the only world title fight on the card, however.
Jarrett Hurd, the WBA world super-welterweight champion, defended his WBA, IBO and IBF world super-featherweight titles against Brit Jason Welborn.
Mark Anthony Barriga took on Carlos Licona for the IBF world minimumweight title.
And completing the main undercard was Wilder’s most recent victim, Luis Ortiz, and former British Olympian Joe Joyce.
