Boxing News - Tyson Fury takes aim at Anthony Joshua
Tyson Fury has claimed Anthony Joshua hasn’t ‘stepped up’ in opponents since knocking out Wladimir Klitschko in April 2017.
“They took the risk in the Klitschko fight,” Fury said of Joshua and his team during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. “It almost didn’t pay off.
“They scraped through by the skin of their teeth. But he done it, fair play. He got off the canvas, showed a champion’s heart to get off to come back and knock out Klitschko. Fair play.
“But since then, they haven’t remotely stepped up at all. They fought Joseph Parker and he didn’t knock Joseph Parker out.
“He didn’t even hurt Joseph Parker. He fought Carlos Takam, had a hard fight with him.
“So they’re just keeping that money train going. And I don’t blame them, because this is a business at the end of the day.”
Boxing News - Eddie Hearn makes admission
Since then, (Wladimir Klitschko fight) they haven’t remotely stepped up at all
Eddie Hearn has claimed undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk won’t face Joshua next, even if he beats Tony Bellew in emphatic fashion this weekend.
"Basically if Usyk wins this fight, and probably if he loses this fight, he goes to heavyweight straight away. [Joshua is] the one they want," Hearn told Sky Sports.
"Joshua will only fight twice next year, so it will be the one after. It won't be the first one, because I think Usyk will want to fight at heavyweight first.
"There are loads of fights out there for him."
Boxing News - Manny Pacquiao talks Floyd Mayweather rematch
Manny Pacquiao believes there’s a strong chance he will rematch Floyd Mayweather Jr before he retires.
"There is a big possibility because Floyd is coming back into boxing," the Filipino said.
"He is fighting in December and I am fighting in January.
“So a big possibility after that next year that we will discuss a rematch.
"My thinking is to have a re-match and to make a clear decision on who will win the fight because in the last fight that we had it wasn't clear who won the fight because he didn't throw a lot of punches and he won the fight.
"I had a shoulder injury...but this time, if this re-match happens there are no excuses, no alibis."
