Conor McGregor fires Eddie Hearn warning over Katie Taylor treatment
CONOR MCGREGOR has fired a warning to Eddie Hearn over his promotion of boxing champion Katie Taylor.
McGregor flew into Boston on Saturday night to watch Taylor defend her WBA and IBF lightweight world titles.
Taylor defeated Cindy Serrano via unanimous decision at the TD Center, her third fight in the US.
McGregor was front row to watch Taylor dominate the fight, before getting in the ring to congratulate the champion.
In a post-fight Instagram post, McGregor praised Taylor, before demanding Hearn gives her the fights she deserves.
“What an honour to watch our very own Katie Taylor live tonight in Boston!” he posted.
“This lady epitomizes hard work, passion, drive, and laser like focus! A motivating inspiration!
"Congrats Katie and coach @rosstraining! Promoter Eddie Hearn and manager Brian Peters you both better be making sure our champion is looked after and guided fairly and correctly up that money tree as her activity is constant and consistent.
“This lady is an asset and should be treated as such. We are watching.
“Great work team Katie!”
Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn praised McGregor for showing support to his compatriot.
“It was a great atmosphere with Conor McGregor coming along,” he said.
“Fair play to him.”
Hearn then went on to promise Taylor fans, and McGregor, that the champion would be in big fights going forward.
“I think Katie’s next fight should be (Rose) Volante, (Delfine) Persoon, they’re the two champions, those kinds of levels,” he said.
“She needs that testing now.
“And the fans want to see her tested.
“They loved watching her, but she won every round.
“She’s that good, she’s going to beat everyone.”
