Boxing News - Anthony Joshua discusses next move
Anthony Joshua has suggested he won’t hang around for Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury to fight one another in December before deciding his next move.
“We’ve been trying to negotiate with their team after the [Carlos] Takam fight,” the WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion after his seventh-round KO victory over Alexander Povetkin. “Then I had to fight [Joseph] Parker, carried on negotiating, then had to fight my mandatory.
“I don’t wanna wait ’till December for him to finish this fight, have his rest, and then start negotiating because I start training for a fight, again, early Jan.
“So I wanna kinda get my fight pencilled in as soon as possible, this side of the year so I know what I’m doing next year.
“But it seems those negotiations take a long time but, as I said, there’s a lot of room for all of the heavyweights.
“They’re all talented, they all can fight. Povetkin wasn’t a champion but he came — we conquered — but he definitely came game and people were entertained.
“So if Wilder’s not serious there’s other people out there. When he’s ready, we’re ready.”
I'm going up against the monster, the man no one really wants to fight
Boxing News - Gennady Golovkin’s promoter talks Canelo Alvarez trilogy fight
Tom Loeffler has claimed boxing fans want to see a trilogy fight between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez following the latter's controversial win earlier this month.
“They want to see a third fight. We’ll see what he wants to do,” Loeffler told Ring Magazine when asked about GGG’s next fight. “We need to see what Canelo wants to do.
“We hear he’s fighting at the end of the year. So I’ll sit down with Golden Boy at some point and see what he wants to do.
“I think the fans are going to demand a third fight. Whether both sides can agree to a third fight is a different story,” Loeffler said.”
Boxing News - Tony Bellew discusses Aleksandr Usyk fight
Tony Bellew is adamant he can shock the world and hand undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk his maiden loss.
"I'm going up against the monster, the man no one really wants to fight," the Liverpudlian said of his final boxing match.
"I have the one thing he doesn't have, and that is a punch that can switch lights off within a blink of an eye."
He added: "Just one wrong step, one wrong manoeuvre, and it's over.
"He is an amazing fighter. I will not admire him, I will fight with everything I've got.
"You will have to nail me to the floor to keep me there - and you could do it, I'm not stupid, but I don't think you can."
Bellew will bid to end Usyk's reign as cruiserweight king at the Manchester Arena on November 10.
