Joshua vs Povetkin schedule, running order: When EVERY fight will start
JOSHUA VS POVETKIN SCHEDULE - A rundown of when every fight will start this evening.
Joshua defends his heavyweight titles later this evening against WBA mandatory challenger Povetkin.
The Briton returns to Wembley with an expected sell-out crowd set to be in attendance in the hope of seeing something special.
It’s six months since Joshua added the WBO belt to his repertoire after defeating Joseph Parker in points.
Povetkin was fighting on that same night in Cardiff, when he knocked out David Price.
Joshua vs Povetkin LIVE: Keep up with all of the action from Wembley
While the main event doesn’t get underway until 10pm, there are several fights worth keeping an eye on before on the undercard.
Shakram Giyasov vs Julio Laguna - Welterweight bout 6:30pm
Giyasov (4-0) meets the more favoured (14-0) Laguna in an interesting fight to start the night.
Giyasov is a world amateur champion and Olympic silver medalist but Laguna is arguably his toughest test having knocked out 10 of his opponents.
David Price vs Sergey Kuzmin - WBA Inter-Continental Heavyweight title fight 7:15pm
This is potentially a career-defining bout for Price after his shocking defeat to Povetkin last time out.
Kuzmin (12-0) will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Price and has pedigree having knocked out Joe Joyce as an amateur and already fought Joshua in the amateurs too.
Matty Askin vs Lawrence Okolie - British Cruiserweight title fight 8pm
Okolie (9-0) has made an impressive start to his professional career to date and wants a world title shot before the next Olympics.
Askin will prove to be his toughest opponent to date, but a win for Okolie could push him to where he wants to go.
Luke Campbell vs Yvan Mendy - WBC Lightweight title final eliminator bout 8:45pm
The chief undercard bout prior to the main event could potentially steal the show.
Campbell is looking for revenge against Mendy, who beat him in 2015, in order to put himself in pole position to face Mikey Garcia for the WBC title.
Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin, 12 rounds, (IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight title) 10.30pm
There has been some question marks surrounding this bout with several former professionals questioning whether Joshua would choose to face Povetkin.
The Russian showcased his power against David Price last time out and has only lost one of his 35 fights - against Wladimir Klitschko in 2013.
