Carl Frampton vs Luke Jackson: Live stream, TV channel, undercard, fight times, odds
CARL FRAMPTON fulfils the dream of a lifetime when he takes on Luke Jackson in a stadium fight at Belfast’s Windsor Park this weekend, defending his interim WBO featherweight world title in front of a crowd of more than 24,000 fans.
Carl Frampton and Luke Jackson stand face to face before fight
The beloved Northern Irishman had been angling for a full world title fight after a stunning victory over Nonito Donaire in December but an unfortunate sequence of events meant none of the four reigning champions were available this summer.
Josh Warrington, who dethroned Lee Selby at Elland Road earlier this year for the IBF strap, needed more time to recover after fighting in May while WBO king Oscar Valdez broke his jaw during a 12-round victory over Scott Quigg in March.
Gary Russell Jr, current WBC champion, only fought in May while Frampton’s former nemesis, Leo Santa Cruz, defended his WBA belt against Abner Mares in June.
The championship congestion left promoter Frank Warren to call upon the next best option: Australian challenger Luke Jackson.
Jackson, 33, arrives in Belfast defending an unbeaten 16-0 record having stopped seven previous opponents.
And despite entering the contest as a relative unknown to the casual fan, “Action” Jackson is convinced victory over Frampton will fulfil a lifelong destiny.
Express Sports has all the details for you to follow along during what promises to be a pulsating night of action from the iconic Belfast venue.
