Deontay Wilder taunts Tyson Fury after weigh-in clash, sends ominous message
DEONTAY WILDER has sent a message to Tyson Fury following their near scuffle earlier today.
The pair came close to exchanging blows this afternoon at the weigh-ins for Fury’s fight with Italian Francesco Pianeta.
Wilder - the WBC heavyweight titleholder - gatecrashed the event at the Europa Hotel in Belfast and proceeded to clash with Fury’s father John, who had to be restrained.
Amongst a raucous crowd and a thin line of security, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ then exchanged words with Fury, saying: “I’m gonna spark you out.”
A fired-up Fury responded by saying: “You’re a bum.”
Wilder took to Twitter moments after his encounter with the former WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Ring magazine and lineal heavyweight champion and sent an ominous message his way.
“There’s only one Deotnay Wilder!” he shouted in a video on his Twitter page.
“Ireland, I’m here baby. The myth, the legend, the knockout artist, the king. I’m here, baby.
“I just left the Fury weigh-ins and oh my god was it crazy. Ah man.
Fury, if you win your fight, it’s me and you, boy
“It’s going to be a hell of a fight. I done lost my voice and everything.
“The intensity. Oh man, I can’t even talk right now. I can’t wait. Fury, if you win your fight, it’s me and you, boy. I can’t wait. Bomb squad.”
Negotiations over a winter showdown between Wilder and Fury have been ongoing and are seemingly close to bearing fruit.
Wilder is confident he will lock horns with ‘The Gypsy King’ by year’s end, so long as he takes care of business tomorrow night.
“As soon as he gets this guy out of the way, it's done,” the American said of a deal to fight Fury in an interview with the BBC. “That's how simple it is.”
The Olympic bronze medallist then sent yet another warning Fury’s way, saying: “Be ready. I'm coming to knock you out, plain and simple.
"The champion is here and he's going to take out Tyson Fury."
