Anthony Joshua: Eddie Hearn obliterates Deontay Wilder as Tyson Fury fight draws closer
ANTHONY JOSHUA's promoter reckons Deontay Wilder has ‘lost the plot’ for turning down multiple fights and pursuing a bout with Tyson Fury.
Hearn had been trying to make a blockbuster heavyweight title unification bout between Wilder and Anthony Joshua before the WBA ordered ‘AJ’ to fight Alexander Povetkin.
According to Hearn, he offered the American multiple fights to keep him ticking over until April, when Joshua plans on fighting next after seeing off Povetkin.
The offers, which Hearn claims included a £11.67m guarantee to face Joshua at Wembley, came in the form of bouts with British heavyweights Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte.
And Hearn can't quite understand why 'The Bronze Bomber' said no to the fights.
“[Wilder] has lost the plot at the moment,” Hearn said of the Alabama native in an interview with Boxing News.
"He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
“He’s got a team of people around him that can’t pay him any money.
"We’re offering him a load of money and he thinks I’m an a******e so he doesn’t really want to deal with me.
Anthony Joshua claims he slipped in fight against Klitschko
"But when he realises I’m paying him three or four times more than everybody else.
“But now I can put it on a plate, you’ve got Dillian Whyte, you’ve got Dereck Chisora, he might look at ‘Del Boy’ and go, ‘I’ll have Del Boy.’ Imagine Wilder against Chisora at the O2.”
Wilder is currently in negotiations to face Fury in December, a bout which would be the biggest heavyweight contest of the year.
[Wilder] has lost the plot at the moment
And according to Fury, a deal to see him fight the Olympic bronze medallist has almost been finalised.
“It’s 99% done as far as I’m concerned. There’s no arguments over money, splits, promoters, nothing,” he told Sky Sports.
"That is how real men do it. We do the business. Straight to it, no messing around, no hiding from the big fights.
“If you are good enough, you are good enough. If you’re not, forget about it. Go home.
“I will outbox him and then I’ll stop him. He’s never fought anyone like me. Ever.
“But old Tyson Fury, who went to Germany to dethrone the legendary Klitschko, will go to Las Vegas and dethrone the WBC champion, Deontay Wilder.”
