BBC Breakfast: Carol Kirkwood DISRUPTS interview causing Lousie Minchin to improvise
BBC BREAKFAST went awry this morning during an interview with comedienne Rebecca Front, which left Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt in a panicked position as they tried to recover.
BBC Breakfast: Carol Kirkwood is LATE for weather forecast
BBC Breakfast is no stranger to the occasional hiccup and today was no different.
Louise and Charlie's interview with Rebecca went a little off-course this morning as it was revealed not everyone was ready to move on.
Towards the end of the conversation Louise began wrapping up the interview by asking: “So what is the name of your book?”
Once Rebecca answered, however, Louise paused for a second and then carried on.
She continued: “Right, I’m going to ask you some more questions because Carol [Kirkwood] isn’t ready.”
Charlie and Louise laughed while Rebecca looked a little shocked, causing her to joke: “It’s good to know what my function is!
“I’m just a space filler, Louise. Thank you.”
The host instantly moved on and decided to quiz Rebecca some more.
She said: “So… tell us about anything!”
Thankfully, Rebecca was given a little more time to discuss her book and promote her upcoming role in Poldark.
Right, I’m going to ask you some more questions because Carol isn’t ready
She finished by commenting: “I’m very easily embarrassed.”
But Charlie disagreed: “Well you’ve handled this morning well.”
“I’m dying inside,” Rebecca laughed.
The show eventually moved on to Carol’s usual weather segment, which proceeded without a problem.
Although she did begin the forecast with the comment: “It’s all going awfully well!"
Yesterday saw similar guest chaos as Louise began panicking about an outbreak of snails.
A representative from the Royal Horticultural Society joined the show to discuss the prevention of pests such as slugs and snails.
But as they escaped Louise commented: “Please take them all home with you.
“I used to eat my breakfast here.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
