Coronation Street spoilers: Sean Tully homeless plot takes devastating turn
CORONATION STREET’S Sean Tully is set for a dark upcoming storyline as he ends up homeless and the victim of a homophobic attack. Now, new images show the former Underworld worker begging for money on the street.
Lorraine: Antony Cotton discusses character's homeless storyline
In upcoming scenes on Coronation Street, Sean (played by Antony Cotton) will find himself living in a tent after things go from bad to worse.
Sean has not been as prominent a figure in the ITV soap recently and it seems he has been struggling with his finances.
Recent images have shown Sean’s tent as well as being attacked in a public toilet.
Now, new first-look photos show him sitting on the street begging for money.
He looks forlorn as his friend Carol comes to support him.
Sean can be seen holding a cup before sitting on a sleeping bag outside of a bakery.
Carol appears to be helping Sean come to terms with life on the street.
In another shot, Sean can be seen looking away as a young boy puts money into the cup.
It comes after soap star Antony opened up about his new storyline on Lorraine.
He revealed that he has a personal connection to the plot.
“Coincidentally, before we knew about it, I helped a homeless lad out,” he told host Lorraine.
I’d been through this process weeks before, by pure coincidence.”
“This person I know had a missus, two kids, a car, a house and it all went wrong and he ended up on the street.”
Antony went on to reveal that his storyline mirrors that of his friend.
I’ve been through the whole process with him, the hostels, the shared housing, I’ve been through the whole lot.”
“When I started it, it was very poignant,” Antony said.
It is not yet known how Sean finds himself in such a desperate situation.
However, he has been struggling to find work ever since Underworld was ruined last year.
Furthermore, he has been taking refuge at Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Hobbs’ (Alan Halsall) home.
Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 9pm.
