BBC Breakfast: Louise Minchin apologises to Carol Kirkwood over 'disastrous' mix-up
BBC BREAKFAST host Louise Minchin suffered an unfortunate mix-up today as she presented the morning news show, which lead to her making a public apology to the programme’s weather correspondent, Carol Kirkwood.

Carol Kirkwood usually informs BBC Breakfast viewers on the weather, however, Louise got a bit confused over the Scotswoman’s duties today.
As Louise, 49, turned to the sports segment of the show, she made an embarrassing slip-up.
“Carol has the sport,” she began, before realising her mistake. “No, she really won’t."
“Sorry, I got up too early today.”

Louise was meant to announce John Watson, the show’s sport correspondent who was sitting on the sofa, however it was clear he took the moment in good humour.
He jested: “We can switch it up if you fancy, I’d like to see Carol doing the sport.”
Dan Walker then went on to explain the reason behind Louise’s mistake, saying: “Louise’s alarm went went off ten minutes early.”
She added: “I’m ten minutes ahead of everything! That’s why I was introducing Carol now.”

Louise even took to her official Twitter account to apologise to Carol for the confusion.
“Sorry @carolkirkwood I just said you were going to be here on @BBCBreakfast with the sport, that's what happens if I wake up 10 minutes early.”
Later, when it was actually Carol’s turn to present, Louise and Dan laughed once again about the error.
It was clear Carol was in good spirits as she declared: “Thank the Lord I’m not doing the sport, that would be a disaster!”

Despite her own apprehension it her abilities, it seems as though viewers would back Carol if she opted for the career change.
One fan tweeted: “Think @carolkirkwood would be a great sport……”
“To be fair though you would be a brilliant sports presenter Carol you can’t be bad at anything you are the best,” another exclaimed.
A third added: “Multi tasking at its best, a lady of hidden talents is our Carol.”
