The Chase viewers in uproar as Bradley Walsh accepts INCORRECT answer from Mark Labbett
THE CHASE fans were outraged this evening as tonight’s chaser stood between a contestant and £40,000.
The Chase: Mark Labbett answers 'Rylan Clark-Neal'
Tonight’s episode of The Chase saw one incredible player storm through to the end of the show effortlessly.
Norman, 74, from Morecambe blitzed through his first cash-builder round and accumulated £5,000.
His head-to-head round was no different, as he walked back to the bench with £40,000 and the chaser, Mark Labbett, two steps behind him, leaving host Bradley Walsh ecstatic.
Fans online quickly became enthralled with Norman’s performance, dubbing him “stormin’ Norman”.
The Chase: Bradley accepted a technically incorrect answer - did you notice?
Unfortunately for Norman, the other three members of his team were caught in their head-to-head rounds.
Left to take on the chaser alone in the final chase, fans were entirely behind Norman.
Support began flooding in on Twitter, with one enthusiastic viewer screaming: “COME ON, NORM. #TheChase.”
Things looked pretty good for Norman, as he correctly answered 18 questions, forcing the chaser to answer 19 correctly to take him down.

But things went downhill for "Stormin’ Norman", as viewers felt he was dealt an injustice.
With less than 30 seconds left, Bradley asked: “Which X-Factor star presents the gameshow ‘Babushka’?”
Mark answered: “Rylan Clark, Rylan Clark-Neal.”
Bradley is usually forced to accept the first answer he is given from either players or the chaser.

However tonight, he allowed Mark to correct himself leaving fans furious that Norman wasn't given a chance to push back.
One fan said: “Err, his first answer was the wrong answer for that Rylan Clark question #thechase.”
Another agreed, adding: “I don't think he should have had the Rylan question allowed #thechase,” while another commented: “…I thought Bradley had to take the first answer, the Rylan question for example… #thechase.”
Norman was unfortunately caught in the final chase, leaving him to go home with nothing.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
