Now his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, has revealed she was left speechless when she watched strawberry-gate unfold as she insisted the boxer is usually a very sharing person.
Speaking on This Morning to hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, the mother-of-one confessed: "Oh my god, that's not something Amir would do so I was absolutely shocked.
"I actually had my mouth open for about two minutes. I guess he was really hungry. I never knew he liked strawberries so much so I'll make sure I have them ready for him when he comes home."
She went on to add: "I guess they were all just hungry and frustrated because usually he's quite sharing.

"In the beginning he gave his meal ticket to Stanley [Johnson] and he gave his chocolate to Kez [Dugdale].
"But I guess that was in the beginning and the hunger wasn't really getting to him, so I don't know if it was really banter or not because it's not really something that Amir would do."
When asked by Eamonn if she thought her husband was playing a game during his time in the jungle after he accused Iain of doing so last night, Faryal remarked: "I have no idea.
"I think Amir is the way he is, you know. He didn't even know he was being filmed the first few days so I think he is the way he is and how you see on TV.

Speaking of her husband's chances of winning the series, the 26-year-old laughed: "He's the king of the ring, I'm not sure of the jungle. But he's gone really far and I didn't think he'd last this long."
