I’m A Celebrity 2017: The REAL reason stars wear red socks revealed - and it’s not nice
Revealed: Meet 2017's I'm A Celebrity camp mates
The celebrities will be leaving all of their designer clothing behind and changing into the mandatory red trousers and brown shirts for their time in the jungle.
They will be completing their camp attire with a pair of bright red socks, which have been revealed to be a very important part of the uniform.
While the eye-catching socks may just appear to be for effect, there’s actually a rather unsavoury reason behind why the stars are required to wear them.
Stars including Rebekah Vardy, Georgia Toffolo and Jennie McAlpine will be donning them to stop bleeding insect bites from showing up on camera.

Speaking to Woman’s Own, the ITV show’s onsite medic Bob revealed that they are necessary to prevent exposing the public to any unsightly wounds the stars may get.
That may also be the reason behind the red trousers and shorts that the celebrities are often seen wearing.
Bob also divulged a number of other show secrets, including the fact that the rocks dotted around the camp are actually hollow and made from papier mache.
Furthermore, for each series of the show, the following are bred on average: 250,000 cockroaches, 153,000 crickets, 2.5 million meal worms, 400 spiders, 500 rats and 30 snakes.

I’m A Celebrity: The infamous jungle shower is reported to be in jeopardy
Bob’s revelations come after it was reported that the show’s infamous waterfall shower could be in jeopardy due to incoming bad weather.
It is believed that the ITV crew are expecting the camp to be “battered” by rain during the first few days of filming.
And, due to the damp and cool conditions, it is said that the creek that the shower resides next to could become infested with leeches.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! starts Sunday on ITV at 9pm.
