BLUE PLANET II viewers were left horrified following tonight’s episode of Sir David Attenborough’s BBC series after it featured the terrifying Bobbit worm.
Blue Planet 2: Cuttlefish hypnotises prey by changing colour
The predatory worm was seen catching and consuming fish, which can also cut its prey clean in half because of its speed and strength.
Eunice aphroditois, also known as Bobbit, was named after Lorena Bobbitt, who cut her husband John’s penis off in 1993.
Sir David explained: “It’s a giant carnivorous worm with a jaw as sharp as daggers. It pays to remember there is a Bobbit about.”
With scissor-like jaws, it can grow to be 10 feet long.
