Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Mollie King FINALLY breaks silence on Aston Merrygold exit
STRICTLY COME DANCING contestant Mollie King has spoken out on friend Aston Merrygold’s exit during last night's It Takes Two.
It Takes Two: Mollie King reveals she was heartbroken Aston left
The Saturdays’ singer appeared alongside her professional dance partner AJ Pritchard on the BBC companion show, and confessed all about her rollercoaster weekend to presenter Zoe Ball.
She admitted: “It felt like a real lose-lose situation, because to be in the bottom two with Aston, he shouldn’t have been there.
“I’ve known him for nearly 10 years, I didn’t want him to go but I didn’t want to go, and that’s why it was a really emotional weekend.”
Despite the turmoil on the series’ latest instalment, the singer was determined to keep going in the competition, and revealed that her 23-year-old partner keeps encouraging her.

“AJ is amazing he’s just like, ‘Keep dancing keep dancing’,” she continued. “It was the best dance, my favourite dance we’ve done so far.”
Mollie, 30, also shared how she dealt with her awkward mistake on Saturday’s show, which judge Craig Revel-Horwood instantly noticed.
“We loved every minute up there, even though I tripped him up,” she laughed, as AJ added: “You had a little mistake, it happens to the best of us, but what’s important is you picked yourself up.”
Not only did Aston, 30, and partner Janette Manrara’s unexpected elimination from the series cause uproar for fans of the show, but the contestant struggled to hold it together on his own appearance during It Takes Two yesterday.

As the pair chatted to Zoe, 46, all three of them ended up breaking down as the emotion became too much to handle.
"Get the glittery tissues out, that's it. We've all gone," Zoe wept, dabbing her eyes. "Oh my goodness me."
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.50pm on BBC One, and It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
