The pair came under fire for their harsh criticism of Simon Rimmer's attempt at an American Smooth with his professional partner, Karen Clifton.
Craig, 52, said his performance looked "like rigour mortis had set in" and only awarded the dance a score of two.
Many flocked to Twitter to slam the Strictly stalwart's comments, with one insisting: "Craig is so disrespectful, lighten up or go. Nasty."
Another added: "Why does Craig have to be so mean all the flaming time. The man can literally say nothing nice. Ticks me off."

A third was in agreement, saying: "Craig is a miserable s**. He would crack his face if he smiled, The Joker was the wrong costume tonight."
What's more, fans of the BBC talent show were not happy with Shirley's "harsh" criticism today, especially when she went in on Susan Calman's Game of Thrones routine.
The 57-year-old was booed by the studio audience as she blasted the comedienne's efforts and it seems that viewers at home were in agreement with the jeering.
