Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Gemma Atkinson left MORTIFIED over 'sexual' routine
GEMMA ATKINSON sent temperatures soaring as she debuted her Cha Cha with her partner Aljaž Škorjanec on last night’s Strictly Come Dancing, but the star has now said she’s not so comfortable learning the “sexual” moves.
Strictly: Gemma receives comments from the judges
The 32-year-old - who was the first contestant to take to the dance floor for the 15th series of Strictly Come Dancing - spoke out about getting up, close and personal with her partner, with her confessing she thinks the racier dances are “mortifying”.
Gemma told TV Life Magazine: “[It’s] so awkward, yeah! When you’re acting and doing a scene on Emmerdale or whatever, it’s like kissing your mate; you’re acting with your mate.
“But to actually be sexual dancing with someone…oh, it’s mortifying! So mortifying.”

Gemma’s comments come as the blonde beauty stepped and shimmied her way around the floor to Shawn Mendes' There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back during the first show of the new series. However, not all the judges were impressed with her explosive performance.
Notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood, 52, laid into her on the show, criticising her technique.
"I thought it was all a little bit blocky and square if I'm being honest," he said, as the audience booed. "Your free arm needs a service as well, darling."

"You have to remember the free arm also has to work," he added, reeling off a list of criticisms. "And you have to also anticipate the changes in direction otherwise it loses fluidity."
Overall, the veteran judge concluded: "I thought it was just a little bit on the heavy side."
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
