ANDREA MCLEAN broke down in tears on Loose Women today when she recalled the pain of her battle with postnatal depression.

The ITV presenter began to dedicate a speech to her make-up artist Donna, who she credited as being her hero throughout the illness, but suddenly started to choke on her words.
"When you come to work you put your best face on, and you present your best possible self, whereas you kind of keep hidden something that might be bothering you," she began.
As she remembered the difficult time, the ex-weather girl apologised for welling up, embarrassed at her vulnerability.
"For me it was postnatal depression. I was being so careful to make sure I came across as professional, don't show any weakness, don't cry in front of anybody, don't crack, don't break, keep going you can do this. The one person who saw through all that was Donna.

Oh gosh this is gonna make me cry that's so mad
"Oh gosh this is gonna make me cry that's so mad," she cracked.
Covering her face in her hands, Andrea continued: "Donna is my friend and make-up artist here at Loose Women, a make-up artist is like a hairdresser and you end up telling them everything.
"All she said was, 'I think you need to get some help', and it was just those little words that made me go to the doctors and get some medical help that I didn't realise I needed."
After a hug from one of her co-hosts, Andrea ran over to the barrier to backstage to thank her friend, and also made sure to mention that Donna was the one who introduced her to her husband Nick.

"I just wanted to say thank you, and you're my hero, and I'm gonna buy you a drink. And also, that's Donna who set me up with Nick, she's really good at matchmaking.
"Oh I didn't expect to do that, that was mad wasn't it," she added.
Loose Women continues tomorrow at 12.30pm on ITV.
