Black Bolt – Ansom Mount
The Inhumans are a race of genetically enhanced superhumans led by the silent and enigmatic King Black Bolt.
Black Bolt is easily the most powerful of the Inhumans with his signature “quasi-sonic scream” – a devastating voice.
The power gives the King the ability to topple cities with a whisper or even crumble planets to dust if unleashed in its full might.
The Inhumans: Ansom Mount stars as King Black Bolt
Because of his deadly voice, the King never opens his mouth and communicates with his peers telepathically.
Starring in this silent role is American actor Ansom Mont, who fans will recognise from ABC’s civil war drama Hell on Wheels.
“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” Marvel's showrunner Jeph Loeb said. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing, almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Serinda Swan plays Black Bolt's wife Medusa
Medusa – Serinda Swan
Black Bolt’s trusted confidante and wife is the equal parts beautiful and deadly Medusa.
Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character
Medusa’a signature power gives her control over her long, red head of hair, which she can manipulate to her bidding.
The hair is both elastic and stronger than steel and she can use it to bind people or snap it like a whip.
Canadian actress Serinda Swan took up the role for the TV series.
“Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character,” said Loeb. “She is nothing short of wonderful.

Maximus – Iwan Rheon
Maximus is Black Bolt’s scheming and traitorous brother – a clever and charming Inhuman dedicated to his people, but he harbours a desire to dethrone the King.
The traitor possesses a genius-level intellect as well as several telepathic powers that allow him to control minds in his immediate vicinity.
But he also suffers from mental instability and hubris which makes him all the more dangerous.
Game of Thrones fans were excited when they found out Marvel’s showrunners were “thrilled” to have actor Iwan Rheon onboard the project.
“Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish, and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life,” Loeb said.
Karnak played by Ken Leung is the King's trusted advisor
Karnak – Ken Leung
Karnak is the royal family’s planner and philosopher and is one of Black Bolts closet allies.
His powers grant him an innate ability to perceive faults in all things, making him an invaluable adviser and chief strategist.
The character is played by Ken Leung, who according to Loeb, brought to the role an unmatched degree of “wisdom and power”.
Nigerian actor Eme Ikwuakor plays the powerful Inhuman Gorgon
Gorgon – Eme Ikwuakor
Black Bolt’s beastly cousin and personal bodyguard, Gorgon, is a strong and hot-headed warrior with hooves for feet.
His unique hooves grant him the ability to generate devastating seismic waves to strike down his enemies.
Gorgon is being played by Nigerian American actor Eme Ikwuakor.
Isabelle Cornish's Crystal has control over the four elements
Crystal – Isabelle Cornish
Crystal is another member of Black Bolt’s royal court gifted with supernatural abilities and is Medusa’s sister.
The Inhuman possesses control over earth, wind, water and fire which gives her an impressive array of offensive capabilities.
She is played by Australian beauty Isabelle Cornish. who is making her big TV debut with The Inhumans.
The Inhumans will air on ABC at 8pm from Friday September 29.
