It seems she was suffering from a lack of sleep as she hosted the BBC's coverage during the early hours of this morning.
Luckily for Laura, the embarrassing incident took place at 2.54am when most people were asleep, as she discussed Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron and his constituency.
She told David Dimbleby: "Tim Farron the current party leader is facing potential defeat. There's chatter there about a re-c**t."
The political editor was quick to rectify her mistake, as she corrected herself: "Recount."

Unfortunately, some people had chosen to stay awake to follow the election coverage and picked up on the embarrassing blunder.
One Twitter user noted: "Laura Kuenssberg just said the word 'c**t' on air when she probably meant 'count'. Oh dear #BBC."
While another added: "#BBCelection #GE2017 BBC bias on a new level, Laura just said people are calling Tim Farron a c**t."

David Dimbleby was left distracted by a pesky fly as he presented the BBC's coverage
"Its far from over but the highlight of the election programme was the mispronunciation of ‘count' by Laura Kuenssberg. #GE2017 #BBCelection," a third tweeted.
The moment came not long after David Dimbleby was distracted from his BBC presenting duties by a fly.
He could be seen swatting away the pesky insect as he told viewers at home: "There’s a fly in the studio, which is rather irritating me – we’ve been trying to get rid of it for the last three days, but it’s still coming around!”
