The actor, who plays the dashing Captain Ross Poldark in the BBC drama, said viewers would not be seeing as much of him as in previous series when the show returns next month.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, the 33-year-old opened up about stripping off as well as the “fattening” gifts he receives from devoted fans - is this why he’ll be scything fully clothed?
When asked what he gets sent, Aidan commented: “I don’t get rude things or sexy things, I get a lot of sweets and chocolate – people just want to fatten me up!”
The heartthrob continued: “I get a lot of photographs from people that are sending me the gifts, people are very sweet – quite literally. I don’t get any weird stuff, maybe’s its vetted?”

Aidan will forever be remembered for a saucy scene that saw him go shirtless while working on Ross’ land, however it will not be repeated.
“I think the clothes stay on this year… Yeah. Maybe there’s some topless sleeping. Honestly, I can’t remember, the clothes come on and off so… I don’t know,” he went on.
Meanwhile, Aidan also suggested his alter ego had matured and that there would be less brawling between him and nemesis George Warleggan (played by Jack Farthing).

He added: “Certainly with Ross, he’s getting older, more mature and drawing a line between the two families is what needs to happen now.
“There’s only so many bar brawls you can get into before someone loses a life. George’s head was in the fireplace - there’s only so many places you can go from there. They’re both fathers and have their families to consider… We love [the fight scenes] though.”
Poldark season three returns to BBC One next month.
