EastEnders fans in MELTDOWN as Jamie Mitchell makes surprise comeback
EASTENDERS fans went into complete meltdown tonight after the soap remembered one of the its best loved heroes.
Martin discusses Jamie Mitchell with Bex on EastEnders
Martin Fowler caused a raucous online after he recalled the tragic moment he ran over Jamie Mitchell in 2002.
The heartthrob’s death was easily one of the biggest moments to rock Albert Square as Martin ploughed straight into Jamie just days before Christmas, only for the teenager to die with girlfriend Sonia Fowler at his bedside.
Having a heart-to-heart with his daughter Bex, who is currently embroiled in a twisted revenge porn storyline which has seen her targeted by vicious bullies, Martin told her that he went through a similarly torturous public shaming.
“All that happened to me,” he said. “Back when I was your age. Just one little mistake, a stupid mistake, that’s all it was and I thought I’d never get over it.”

“Jamie, yeah?” asked Bex. “Mum’s old boyfriend.”
“And I deserved that,” sighed Martin. “You don’t deserve this.”
And 15 years since Jamie’s death, loyal supporters were still longing for the hunk and his curtains.
