Nikki Whyatt finally popped the question to his blushing girlfriend Samantha Lochrie while hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford welled up from the sidelines.
The pair were joined by their mothers Jackie and Kim, who spoke for them.
"One night they were kissing and one of the staff members went over to Nikki and told him it was inappropriate to kiss and we thought, ‘What’s the problem?’” said Jackie. “They’ve been doing it for a long time."
Jackie and Kim went on to explain they’ve now set up their own youth club for over 18s where Nikki and Samantha can kiss whenever they want.

However, as the interview came to a close, Nikki got down on one knee while the presenters cheered them on.
“You can take time to think about it Sam,” teased Eamonn.
Also on today’s show, Eamonn snapped at Ruth as he revealed that he’s often covered for her hangover.

The married presenting duo were in stitches as they reflected on the little white lies parents tell their children.
However, Ruth confessed that she’s often passing off the odd fib to her son Jack, but there’s one lie in particular which seems to pop up more than most.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
