Die-hard fans of the show took to social media to applaud the long-running comedy, which first aired back in 2003.
Peep Show’s finale screened on the same night as the European premiere of Star Wars; The Force Awakens but that didn’t stop its most loyal viewers from tuning in.
One fan posted: “Never mind all this Star Wars stuff, it's the last ever episode of Peep Show tonight. Can't believe it!”
David Mitchell will return to the small screen in a TV movie entitled Professor Branestawm Returns
