The dancer struggled to stay composed when the singer thanked her for her patience, before saying he was gutted to have not made it into the final.
Speaking to Zoe Ball on Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two, the 42-year-old said he felt "fantastic" after yesterday's elimination before focussing his attention on Janette.
Peter told her: "Janette, my dearest friend, the patience that you've shown me has been unbelievable. We've had some great, great moments and you've worked me hard."
The father-of-three continued: "The only thing that's made me sad about not getting to the end, is that I haven't got you there. I wanted to so bad… You're the best!"

Peter Andre apologised for not getting her into the final
Janette, who is engaged to fellow dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, could be seen wiping her eyes, after their American Smooth failed to impress the judges and public alike at the weekend.
"You've got to understand when it's your turn to bow out gracefully. It was my time… Three times top of the leader board, twice at the bottom, which for me is a win! I'm happy," Peter stated.
When asked about the dance-off and the infamous cupcake placement, the reality star said: "The second time not only did I gracefully put it down, I looked at Craig [Revel Horwood] really slowly and he burst out laughing. Then I missed the next step…"

Speaking about the fast-approaching final, Janette admitted that the atmosphere was changing backstage.
She added: "There was a very quiet, eery feeling in the corridors this weekend, because everyone is so focussed and determined to do well.
"It's such a tight competition and anyone could easily win. I think it's the closest one ever."
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
