Pick of the day: The darker side of Egypt's archaeological tourism
Unreported World: Egypt's Tomb Raiders is on at 7.30pm on Channel 4
Reporter Aidan Hartley (above) and director Alex Nott travel to Egypt to investigate the shocking effects the political unrest is having on the tourism industry.
They find ancient archaeological sites being plundered by armed looters and people who previously worked as guides trying to survive without money or food, plus the corpses of horses and camels that used to carry tourists, lying in piles in the desert next to the pyramids close to Cairo.
