FOOD: Great British Menu, 6.30pm, BBC2
THE cookery challenge returns for a third year.
This time Britain’s top chefs will prove that we are up there with the very best when it comes to modern British cooking.
Two chefs from each region will be chosen to compete for the opportunity to cook a four-course dinner to be held in June, at the restaurant at the top of The Gherkin in London.
The host will be Heston Blumenthal and his celebrity guests. Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton (pictured) are back on the judging panel, ready to sample the delectable dishes prepared throughout the series.
Tonight, we are given a reminder of how the series has evolved since 2006 when the winning chefs cooked for the Queen.
