War Hero In My Family
TV presenter Dominic Littlewood and ex-Not The Nine O’Clock News comedienne Pamela Stephenson go in search of the war heroes in their families.
Littlewood’s grandfather, John Grant, rarely spoke about his wartime experiences. All Littlewood knows is that his grandad was a changed man when he came home in 1945.
To find out why, Littlewood flies to the Far East where his grandfather spent four years working on the infamous Thai-Burma railway.
Stephenson explores her New Zealand roots by researching the wartime experiences of her uncle, Norman Stephenson, who served with the New Zealand Artillery and was killed in action during the Italian campaign in 1944.
