Maestro At The Opera
MAESTRO is back and this time the would-be conductors must master the ultimate art form, opera.
Throughout the three-part series four well-known personalities must battle for the chance to conduct a whole act in a legendary opera in front of an audience of more than 2,000 devotees at the world-famous Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
In tonight’s programme the would-be maestros are sent on a week-long training camp where they must undergo days of intensive instruction and aria rehearsal.
Cue Oxford professor of mathematics and broadcaster Marcus du Sautoy, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, actress and comedienne Josie Lawrence and the UK’s premier urban music DJ Trevor Nelson (all left).
