Prince Harry humiliated on live TV over 'chaotic' return to UK

Prince Harry's "chaotic" and potentially "embarrassing" return to the UK has been slammed on live TV by royal historian, Andrew Larman. Appearing on GB News on Monday, Larman addressed the confusion surrounding whether or not Harry will stay at Buckingham Palace during this week's visit.

Explaining that King Charles' son would not be staying at the royal residence, Larman clarified that as Harry did not give Buckingham Palace confirmation by the requested deadline, he's now unable to do so.

"I think this is very much the fault of the Sussex camp, rather than the royal family because the whole thing is looking chaotic," Larman said. "I mean, for his visit this week there have been briefings and counter-briefings about will he be with Meghan, will his father see his grandchildren and so on.

"The trouble is that all of this is likely to overshadow what's coming tomorrow, which is going to be the judgement in his phone-hacking case against Associated Newspapers. If the judgement goes in his favour, this will be a very good week for Prince Harry. If the judgement goes against him, however, which I would say is probably more likely, it's going to be a very, very bad week indeed for him," Larman continued.

"The embarrassment of being in his home country for the first time in quite a long time whilst very awkward questions are being asked, it's going to be absolutely horrendous. So, this week - and it started off chaotically - it might get worse at this stage."

Responding to the news that Prince Harry will not be staying at Buckingham Palace, a representative for the Duke of Sussex told reporters: "I am aware of multiple briefings from Buckingham Palace last week suggesting that the Duke had not accepted the offer of accommodation at a Royal Residence.

"Following RAVEC’s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements. Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend.

"It is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason. Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday. It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment."
