BBC's Question Time set erupted into laughter on Thursday evening as host Fiona Bruce was forced to step in to stop a row about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. The panel of the BBC show, which aired from Birmingham, included the culture secretary Lisa Nandy; the Conservatives’ shadow home office minister, Alicia Kearns; Jess Brown-Fuller MP from the Liberal Democrats; the chef and television presenter Tom Kerridge and the journalist Esther Krakue.

The interruption came as audience member, Peter More, asked: “Given the latest accusations surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is the monarchy fit for purpose in the 21st century?” The Lib Dem's Jess responded: “Before being elected, I had no idea that politicians were unable to scrutinise members of the royal family in parliament. I think it is important for all victims in this country to know that nobody is above the law, regardless of birthright, position, friends, bank balance. Nobody should be above scrutiny, and nobody should be above the law.” Esther didn't hold back either when she spoke about Andrew. She said: "I appreciate the anger around Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor; he is clearly an entitled, arrogant man with no judgment."

Host Fiona Bruce then jumped in to stop her in her tracks, as she said: "I have to say at this point he denies any wrongdoing, you may all laugh there but this is my duty and I have to say that," and the audience burst out laughing.

Conservative party member, Alicia Kearns, also went on a scathing rant about the former Prince and other notable men who have been named in the Epstein Files.

Amid a discussion about Andrew, Alicia said: "It's not just Andrew Windsor, and there's a real risk that other men are able to slip away in the dark."

She went on: "There are too many British men who are allowed to get off the hook because we're so focused on one individual.

"The police are now doing their job on the former Prince and I want to see them do that. But I'm not done till we go through the list of British men."

The audience then burst into a huge round of applause for the BBC show guest.

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to his friendship with dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
