A gripping true crime series is set to explore a "night of terror" in an episode not to be missed, airing on Channel 4 tonight.

The synopsis reveals: "New 999 What Happened Next. Two chilling crimes on one night of terror as a late-night supermarket argument explodes into shocking violence and three masked men break into a 70-year-old's bedroom."
Viewers will be transported to Surrey, where they will witness a high street supermarket descend into chaos as a disagreement between two strangers rapidly escalates into extreme violence.
CCTV footage captures snippets of a brutal assault and the ensuing chaos, leaving a man with serious injuries, whilst two suspects remain at large.
The synopsis adds: "As detectives begin their investigation, what starts as a simple assault grows into something far more disturbing, stretching across counties and exposing the lengths some will go to in a moment of rage."
Meanwhile, another case sees officers respond to a frantic 999 call reporting cries for help. Upon arrival, police discover an elderly woman shaking in her bed after masked raiders had torn through her property.
Without any solid description or surveillance material, detectives face a challenging probe as they attempt to connect the limited evidence at their disposal.
The concluding instalment is scheduled to broadcast next Tuesday, February 17 at 10pm. Those eager to watch ahead can access all four episodes online at no cost.
