All Creatures Great And Small cast sum up each series in one word

Despite All Creatures Great and Small wrapping up only in October, devoted viewers are already yearning for its comeback, and fortunately they won't be waiting much longer to return to Darrowby.

The Channel 5 programme will once again broadcast its Christmas special this December, which will carry particular emotional significance for Siegfried Farnon actor Samuel West this year.

With the festive episode approaching, presenter and canine enthusiast Graeme Hall has delighted fans with an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse, offering viewers the chance to discover the secrets behind creating this cherished television series.

When questioned about whether anything from his visit had caught him off guard, Graeme revealed: "The biggest surprise was the attention to detail that you would never, ever see on the telly.

"You could have the biggest television in your living room and you would still never see, for example, the dates on the newspapers that are on the kitchen table. The fact that the tax disc on the car has the correct date on it.

"The latest series is 1945, the war has just finished, the tax disc on the car running out in December 1945 or something, the newspapers were all the right dates. When I did my cameo role, the lady came around and said, 'Right, what time have you got on your watch?'

"If you happen to see the time on somebody's watch, it'll all be the correct time! It's just unbelievable, and when you talk to the actors about, for example, the newspapers, they say it just helps, it really transports you back to the 40s."

Channel 5's star, Graeme Hall, admitted that being on the set of All Creatures makes one forget they're in the modern world due to its authentic period setting, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Viewers of All Creatures might have recognised Graeme, famed for hosting Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, making an appearance in the sixth season as a friend of Ambrose.

Graeme was full of admiration for his time on the All Creatures set, confessing it has made him an even bigger fan of the show than he already was.

He remarked: "It was an absolute pleasure to work with them, I can't believe I get paid for this sometimes. I'm even more of a fan of the show now than I was before."

Fans of Channel 5 can look forward to a new series of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly starting from January next year, with Graeme hinting at some upcoming changes, including the introduction of a puppy school.

Graeme shared: "We're introducing a puppy school, most of the show is the format that you know, which is me doing my best to help people with almost impossible behaviour problems and the dogs."

He added, "But, this time we're also teaching puppies how to avoid those pitfalls. We're going through all the puppy milestones, it's great. We're following six puppies on their journey from three months old."

All Creatures Great & Small: Behind The Scenes is on Wednesday 24th Dec at 8pm on 5. Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly returns to 5 this January.
