Strictly fans were left stunned when it was announced Vicky Pattison had been voted out of the competition. The former Geordie Shore star, revealed her "heart broke" for her dance partner Kai Widdrington as she knew they were leaving Strictly when it was announced they were in the dance off.

Vicky and Kai, 30, reflected on Sunday night's elimination, which saw them voted out for their Jive after going head to head with EastEnders Balvinder Sopal. Her exit meant she would not be taking to the legendary dancefloor in Blackpool.

Strictly legend Brendan Cole has since suggested Vicky had "ballsed up" the entire performance during the dance off.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk on behalf of Sky Vegas, he commented: “I called it a week or two ago that Vicky Pattison’s weeks were numbered. Even though she had a great dance last week, I felt her days were numbered.

When I saw her jive this week, I thought she’d be bottom two but would save herself against Balvinder [Sopal]. Sure enough – bottom two – but she absolutely ballsed up the whole thing."

He added: “She danced most of it out of sync with Kai Widdrington, which is a shame. I felt that he didn’t dance particularly well either, and he’s normally amazing. So no, I wasn’t shocked.”

The 49 year old has also addressed which of the remaining nine contestants could lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Brendan said: “I started out thinking Alex Kingston might be an obscure, people’s-champion type of winner rather than the best dancer. But that’s slipping away because she’s not keeping up with the top ones – Lewis [Cope] and Amber Davies.

“For me, Amber is the best on the show. She’s clearly very trained, but she’s not getting the same recognition or kudos that Lewis gets. They gushed over Lewis’s tango, and I thought it was good, but technically it could’ve been better. Katya Jones is phenomenal and can push him because he can match it.

“But Amber won’t win. She’ll be lucky to avoid the dance-off now that it’s so tight. I believe Lewis will lift the Glitterball hands down. He’s likable, humble, the judges adore him, and he won the public over with that epic Halloween number. That sealed the deal for me.”

Strictly Come Dancing heads back to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom this weekend.
