Netflix The Witcher's Liam Hemsworth already under fire as fans slam season 4 trailer

Netflix's fourth series of The Witcher has already sparked controversy amongst devotees following a "cringe-worthy" sequence from the debut trailer.

A fresh preview of the upcoming series was released yesterday (Tuesday, 7th October), giving audiences their initial look at newcomer Liam Hemsworth assuming the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill.

During series four, Geralt finds himself cut off from his allies Yennefer of Vengerberg (portrayed by Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) whilst the Continent faces devastation from warfare.

A synopsis adds: "As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys.

The preview has unveiled some of the breathtaking sequences and fresh faces arriving in series four, leaving supporters eagerly awaiting developments following the controversial departure of Cavill from the production.

Nevertheless, numerous devotees have already expressed disappointment over an allegedly uncharacteristic scene featuring Geralt, during which he shouts "let's f***ing move" before charging into combat.

One spectator voiced their criticism on Reddit: "The "let's f***ing move" was cringe. Probably could've kept that out of the trailer, but otherwise it looks decent."

Another enthusiast responded: "Yeah not to hate but I dont think book Geralt, game Geralt, audiobook Geralt, or even Cavill Geralt would say LETS F***IN MOVE lol. I'm gonna watch it but keeping the expectations low."

Another viewer went one step further, sharing their disappointment in Hemsworth's voice as the iconic monster-hunter, penning: "I'm excited for the fights and Liam looks decent as Geralt but I don't know how I feel about his strange medieval biker jacket.

"I also feel like he could have done more vocal coaching or just attempted to deepen his voice or sound more gruff. Lastly, 'Let's f***ing move' should never have been in Geralt's script."

"'Let's f***in move!' Wasn't very geralt-like," another agreed.

The debate raged on in the YouTube comments section where one user declared: "Geralt wouldn't say 'Let's ***** move'."

Nevertheless, numerous supporters have rallied behind Hemsworth's appointment, with one Redditor commenting: "Liam sure moves like a Witcher and he deserves a chance! So far so good!"

Meanwhile, a YouTube user observed: "We shouldn't give Liam any hate - Henry leaving is not what killed this show, it was the writing."
