Gardeners' World's Adam Frost flooded with support as he admits 'I am crying'

Adam Frost admitted he couldn't stop crying after he watched his first-ever episode of Gardeners' World. The expert recently made the admission during an appearance at In Conversation Live at Kew Gardens at the weekend.

The show took to its official Instagram account, where it posted a clip of Adam speaking with the audience. The video was captioned, "@adamfrostdesign talking about his first time seeing himself on TV @gardenersworldtv. The Second session begins at 5 p.m. today!"

When asked whether he had ever watched himself back on TV, Adam admitted, "I watched it once. I watched the first one I ever did.

"And the family said, 'Come on, we have got to sit down and watch it, and actually, we sat and watched it, and my youngest [son], who obviously, he's 16 and it was probably about 10 years ago, so he was about 10.

"And he sat next to me, and just towards the end of it, as the credits were going up, I had a text message, and so, I am crying at this text message."

Adam continued, "The text message was from Linda Hamilton, Jeff's wife."

As the crowd let out an "awwww" sound, the TV star added, "Alright, so I am crying. Oaks put his hands on my knee and said, 'Dad, don't worry; it wasn't that bad.'

The crowd burst into laughter as Adam commented, "It was absolutely brilliant."

Geoff Hamilton was a huge staple on Gardeners' World and the show's longest-serving presenter. However, in 1995, the beloved host had a heart attack, and it took him three months to recover.

In 1996, Geoff tragically died after suffering from another heart attack while on a charity bike ride.

The clip was also shared on Adam's Instagram account, and his fans flooded him with words of support.

One wrote, "It was a simply superb way to spend a couple of hours in all of your company. Nicky you were such a good host, Francis so interesting and Adam, we adore you, your down to earth character and stories. What a treat."

Another praised, "Adam it was an absolute joy to be in the audience today watching you, Frances and Nicky. You’re so full of stories and fun, Frances was so lovely and it was great hearing a bit more about her - you really made my day, thank you x."

Someone else added,What an amazing, fun and informative afternoon. Had the pleasure of walking back to the underground station with @adamfrostdesign - what a top bloke!"

Another went on, "What a treat! Gorgeous garden, brilliant host @nickichappers and such great conversation and banter from @adamfrostdesign and @francestophill … thank you @visitrichmond for the tickets!"
