TalkTV star left furious as he skewers Starmer after migrant cost bombshell
A TalkTV presenter weighed in on Channel migration hitting a record high as the crisis deepens.
Kevin O'Sullivan discussed the high number of migrants who have crossed the English Channel during his TalkTV show on Wednesday evening, taking aim at Sir Keir Starmer's government.
He began: "I think I am right in saying it's about £77 million that it's going to cost us in the next year to pay for these people. That's £40,000 each. So £76 million, that's how much the migrants who have come across in the last three days are going to cost us in the next year - that's just in three days."
"The costs involved are off the scale," he added.
His remarks come after the latest Home Office figures revealed almost 20,000 people have made the difficult journey in the first half of this year. That's 48 per cent higher than the same time last year and 75 per cent higher than this time in 2023.

This Monday, 879 people crossed the channel in 13 small boats, the third-highest daily number of arrivals in 2025.
Kevin continued: "Talking about disastrous policies, it's interesting when they [Labour] are saying, 'We are going to do a swap, we'll give France our illegal migrants and we'll take their legal migrants.' Seems a bit strange to me and not an even swap."
The asylum bill has almost doubled in two years, from £3 billion to £5.4 billion. More than 30,000 asylum seekers are accommodated in hotels at a cost of more than £5 million a day.
More than 100,000 asylum seekers are awaiting an initial decision on their claim.
A Downing Street spokesperson said the numbers are "clearly unacceptable" and international partnerships and solutions are needed to tackle the ongoing issue.
“Let’s be clear, the rising numbers in recent years are because these gangs have been allowed to embed industrial-scale smuggling enterprises across Europe," they told ITV.
However, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “One year into Labour’s government and the boats haven’t stopped - they’ve multiplied. Labour tore up our deterrent and replaced it with fantasy."
