Netflix's hidden gem with 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating called a 'must watch' by fans

Netflix is home to one of the most cherished US sitcoms that many may not be aware of.

At the end of 2024, all six seasons of Parenthood were made available on the streaming platform.

The show originally aired in 2010 and ran for five years until its conclusion in 2015. It centres around the Braverman family, spanning across three generations.

Lauren Graham, star of Gilmore Girls, portrays Sarah, a single mother with two teenagers, played by Miles Heizer and Mae Whitman.

Sarah is one of four siblings, each with their own children and facing their unique challenges. These range from marital problems, heartbreak, maturing and raising a child diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.

Each season has been well-received by viewers, with the third series boasting an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The sitcom has earned nothing but praise from fans, many of whom are encouraging others to watch it, reports Surrey Live.

One viewer said: "Phenomenal show! Absolutely loved it. Heartwarming Evoked so many emotions, I laughed and I cried. Fantastic casting, outstanding So many tender moments, character development where I gushed with praise as to how well it was written, acted etc.

"This is bingeworthy. Up there with all my favourites such as Gilmore Girls, Suits, Friends - shows that take you on a beautiful fulfilling journey."

Off-screen, Parenthood co-stars Lauren Graham and Peter Krause were romantically involved throughout the show's run but announced their separation in 2021 after a relationship spanning 11 years.

In a candid interview with People magazine after their break-up, the Netflix celebrity opened up about the reasons behind their decision to part ways.

At the time, she reflected: "We had such a good time together that I didn't maybe ask some fundamental questions about, What are your values and what do you envision? and those more grown-up things. And then they just caught up with us."
