The BBC is set to dazzle audiences with its latest drama offering, Two Weeks in August, boasting an impressive cast.
Penned by Catherine Shepherd, this eight-part series will take viewers on an intimate voyage with a group of friends whose holiday in Greece leads them to "reconnect and uncover more about themselves and each other than they ever expected".
Jessica Raine of Call the Midwife fame, steps into the role of Zoe, a woman stretched thin, seeking the respite she desperately hopes the holiday will bring for her and her family.
Damien Molony from The Split joins as her "troubled husband" Dan, alongside Nicholas Pinnock from For Life who has been cast at their long-term friend Solomon, and Antonia Thomas, known for her role in The Good Doctor, as Solomon's new spouse Jess.
Digital Spy has revealed that the ensemble also includes Leila Farzad and Hugh Skinner playing university friends Nat and Jacob, reports the Daily Record.

Two Weeks in August promises to follow Zoe's pursuit to "rediscover joy in her life" as she sets off on what should be a rejuvenating getaway with family and friends.
However, as Zoe succumbs to her innermost desires, the holiday meant for healing "becomes a reckoning for a group of adults who refuse to grow up".

The official summary reveals that the plot thickens as the characters find themselves marooned on an island, where rising tensions and real perilous situations force them to cast blame amongst themselves to uncover who is at fault.
The synopiss teases: "Is Zoe responsible for the drama and destruction around her or, as heaven turns to hell, are bigger forces at play? We are in Greece after all, the land of the ancient Gods ... "

Filming is currently taking place in Malta and Gozo, with Tom George and Matthew Moore at the helm as directors.
The storyline has been lauded by Call The Midwife star Jessica as "brilliant", "epic" and "tragic". Adding to the excitement, Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, has shared her enthusiasm, stating that watching the cast come together again for "eight sun-soaked episodes will be irresistible."
